How live school bus tracking works
A school bus GPS tracking system doesn't have to mean extra hardware. In School MS the driver signs in to the School MS app on their phone and starts the trip; the phone's location is shared while the trip runs, and the office and parents see the bus move on Google Maps.
When the trip ends, sharing stops. Parents see only the bus their child travels on, and the office sees every bus on the live map with the time of the last update.

Transport and fees together
Transport is usually a separate fee and a separate list in the office. In School MS the bus route and stop are recorded on the student's profile, next to their fee plan, so the office can see who uses which bus, and transport costs from the vehicle log appear in the same reports as fee income.
When a student changes route or stops using the bus during the year, the change is made on their profile and the driver's list updates, so the driver always has the right students for each trip.
The same information helps the office plan routes for the next year: you can see how many students use each route and stop, and which buses are full or nearly empty, before deciding whether to add or merge routes. Parents of new students can be told their route and stop as soon as it is recorded on the profile.
